Scientific activities

The department was established when the college opened its gates. It was called the Department of General Engineering, later its name has been changed several times. Its main activity is to teach the basic subjects for engineers, such as Machine Parts, Machine Design, Technical Drawing, Computer Aided Modeling and Design, Theory of Machines, Heat- and Fluid Mechanics and Labour Safety. The training in the field of Mechatronics started in 2006 at the Department and new subjects are also taught such as Introduction to Mechatronics 1, 2, Control Engineering, Mechatronic Project and Design of Mechatronic Systems). Due to the high number of lectures and students, the energy of the department is totally consumed by educational tasks, so the majority of our research activity is carried out by PhD students.
