Course information
The subject comprises the fields of traditional control theory based on the knowledge gained in subject Basics of mechatronics II. The main topics are as follows:
Transfer function review. Connecting block diagrams in series and parallel. Properties of negative feedback Bode and Nyquist plots of transfer function. Quality requirements of control system: rise time, settling time, overshoot, steady state error. Root locus, frequency-response, state space design of controller. Hurwitz and phase-margin methods of stability analysis. Simple nonlinearities in control loop. Two stage and sliding mode control. Basics of digital control. Digitization, mathematical and physical sampling, A/D, D/A, Sample and hold blocks. Shannon sampling frequency principle. Z-Transform. Design of emulation, bilinear transformation. Introduction to discrete controller design.
